TOKYO—The world’s tallest tower lets tourists see Tokyo from 634 meters in the air.
Tokyo Skytree is a broadcasting and observation tower with two different decks, Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria, that allows viewers to see for miles.
For 3,100 yen, roughly $20, you can view Tokyo from the highest tower in the world. Tickets must be ordered online in advance.
Once there, you will be directed to print them and start your journey. Guests will then be led to one of four elevators. Each elevator has a theme, one for each season of the year.
The first observation deck allows you to see the city from 350 meters up in the air.
On a clear day, you can see as far as Tokyo Disney. With windows angled down, it allows guest visitors to see directly below their feet.
From here, you can make your way up to the Tembo Galleria. Sitting at 450 meters, this allows guests to see an even higher view of Tokyo.
Tokyo Skytree became the tallest tower in Japan in 2010, and became the tallest in the world when completed the following year. It opened to the public in May 2012. Tokyo Skytree is the world’s third largest structure behind Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Those structures soar to 678.9 meters and 829.8 meters, respectively.
The tower is accessible via train at the Tokyo Skytree and Oshiage stations.
