ARLINGTON, Texas — Diagnosed with celiac disease, Arlington resident Carter Moon, 21, turned their passion for baking into a business, offering allergen-free baked goods through pop ups at Inclusion Coffee Shop.
With a commitment to using high-quality ingredients and precise preparation, Moon creates a range of treats, including cupcakes, brownies and edible cookie dough.
Moon says they hope to open their own bakery one day, but for now they are focused on growing their business, Black Velvet Bake Shop, through pop-ups and custom orders. Moon occasionally participates in Small Business Saturday events at Inclusion Coffee from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
As Moon continues to build their business, they said that they hope to inspire others with celiac disease and other dietary issues to be able to enjoy food without restrictions.
