I consider myself to be an American although I was born in Argentina.

I’m also a DACA recipient.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is a policy adopted by President Barack Obama in 2012 giving undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children the opportunity to work, get a driver’s license and be able to have peace of mind.

I see myself as an American because I was brought to the U.S. when I was 6 months old, and I grew up in Dallas. I speak English, as well as Spanish, fluently.

My American story began, and is possible, because of DACA.
