ARLINGTON, Texas—Daylight saving time in the United States ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, pushing clocks back one hour.
The biannual time change provides additional morning daylight, which in theory makes it safer for children going to school. Critics argue that the cycle of “springing forward” in the spring and “falling back” in the fall disrupts sleep schedules and can lead to health problems.
Some members of Congress, and some state legislatures, have proposed making daylight saving time permanent.
