ARLINGTON, Texas—The focus of this story is to talk about the fall season at Green’s Produce & Plants. This little farmers market is covered in many different fall decorations, including many pumpkins, squashes and gourds.
Manager Scott Sutton said Green’s has been around since the late 1960s, when JB Green opened a roadside fruit and vegetable stand. Tom Baron purchased the business in 1973.
Sutton said he’ll drive to other farmers’ markets in Dallas, Arizona and even Tennessee to get fruits and vegetables.
Every year, this little business strives to create fun and elaborate seasonally appropriate displays. During the summer months, for example, Green’s gets a little trailer and creates a lemonade stand out of it for people to get drinks while it’s hot, and it has a huge reindeer inflatable that it puts out around Christmas time.
Green’s Produce & Plants is known for its charitable work. It offered hundreds of pumpkins to a festival, and when people come asking for donations, Green’s often finds a way to make it happen.
