ARLINGTON, Texas—Arlington Skatium has served the Arlington community from the same location for decades, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025. Hosting general public skates, themed nights and birthday parties, the Skatium provides patrons with some fun on wheels.
Arlington Skatium features a large public rink, both new and retro arcade games, a full-service snack bar and an additional private rink that can be rented out. It is currently working to expand its snack bar offerings, including a bar, to provide a wider array to customers.
While repairs and fixes are done as necessary, the Skatium recently underwent some larger renovations. “Overhaul” renovations typically occur every few years. The floors were completely redone earlier in the summer, and everything got a new paint job.
Arlington has had a large and growing entertainment district for years, but a lot of that is focused farther to the north. COO Tripp Hannah said he likes that the Skatium can serve as a spot to bring more attention to South Arlington. He said they haven’t had much trouble keeping up or competing with other entertainment venues as the experience they offer is pretty unique in the area.
Hannah said that they’re working to get even more involved with the community by doing programs like their STEM field trips in which students come for an hour of STEM instruction before transitioning to two hours of roller skating.
